Looking Up the Rookery Building Spiraling Staircase - Chicago

The famous spiraling staircase at the Chicago Rookery Building. It was finished in 1888 by John Wellborn Root and Daniel Burnham. It is the oldest still-standing skyscraper in Chicago. Up top, it is rumored, is a beautiful glass encased area that served as the offices for the architects. The lobby was re-done by Frank Lloyd Wright in the early 1900's. The Rookery is now a national historic landmark. What you are looking at isn't down - it's looking up the staircase with my tripod angled almost flat.
