BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir Complex - in Bartlett, Illinois (about 30 minutes from downtown Chicago). It is a Hindu temple that was pieced together like a jigsaw puzzle over 16 months with pieces shipped to and from India for hand carving.Over 1,700 volunteers helped build this from over 3 continents. It is a fusion of ancient and modern architecture, and it has been said it was designed to last over a thousand years time. Quite a beautiful place, but do be respectful if you visit.
